Readers' comments and reviews

Great book - a wonderful introduction to the concept of the logical paradox, and a great primer on the various types of said. However, not a book to be read in one sitting, unless you want your brain to start bleeding. (Reviewer on www.goodreads.com)

"I am not a philosopher but this book leads me to a lot of interesting questions that I would never have thought about. They are all very meaningful and mind-blowing questions which will stretch your mind. Strongly recommend to read it. I finish all 150 pages in 2 days because it is so interesting that I cannot stop reading it."  (Reviewer on Barnes & Noble)

This book does not exist” ... is a really interesting collection of famous paradoxes and related real-life examples, thought experiments and puzzles. As the subtitle of the book suggests, Hayden and Picard take the reader on a journey into the world of the paradoxical that touches upon a wide area of topics: Knowing and Believing, Vagueness and Identity, Logic and Truth, Mathematical Paradoxes, Probability Paradoxes, Space and Time, Impossibilities and last but not least Deciding and Acting.

“It will definitely give you ample food for thought — occasional puzzlement and head-shaking is guaranteed. Moreover, the book will help you do become a better thinker by becoming more aware to paradoxes and by helping you to avoid related thinking traps and cognitive biases. The authors have done a superb job of makin philosophical and scientific concepts easily accessible to a general reader, and have nicely packaged the book into short bites that can easily be digested one piece a day like chocolates in a praline box.      (Dr. Detlef Reis / THINKERGY Ltd)

"...it is quite possibly the best book I've ever picked up. It is so insanely interesting. It leaves me confused every time I pick it up even though I understand what it is saying." (from http://runspaz.blogspot.com/)

This little book is great fun if you enjoy puzzles and thought-provoking questions. It can be picked up for a single diversion - maybe over lunch - and has an interesting & satisfying format. (Reviewer on Barnes & Noble website)

"I absolutely love this book!! I keep it on my coffee table at home. Everyone asks about it when they come over and everyone who picks it up has a hard time putting it down. It's a great conversation starter and it REALLY makes you think outside the box! I love books like that. It's also cool because of the way it is written. It has sections but you don't need to read it front to back to enjoy it...I find myself picking it up randomly, reading about a paradox and then discussing it with my husband and friends to get their take on it. If you like to think and you like puzzles and logic, then this book is a must!! I think it would make a great gift too! (Reviewer on Amazon.com)

This book really makes you think. If you're looking for a light read, or a rather heavy read, pick this book. The paradoxes in this book can be light and fun, or deep and philosophical. The choice is yours. (Reviewer on LivingSocial.com)

"Heaven for lovers of paradox. This is an extensive collection of paradoxes, with references to the (usually) philosophers who thought about them, created them, discussed them. Great fun! " (Reviewer on Goodreads.com)

"A brain melter. An argument starter. An argument solver. A pick-up and put-down toilet book, yet it requires conversation and group analysis at times. Anyone geek-inclined should read it." (Reviewer on Goodreads.com)

Another one of those books where if you have an idea what you are getting into and are eager to dive in, it fully meets your expectations.
This is a small, clever book of paradoxes, and I was happy that the authors presented the paradoxes not only considerably thoroughly and clearly, but in an unbiased way. Readable by any average human being, but it does allow you to use your head a little, if you so choose. (A reviewer on www.goodreads.com)
